An Honest Self Disclosure

Losing the extra pounds from my pregnancy is not an easy thing. Sometimes I get a little sad and frustrated ... and mainly self-conscious about my excess weight. I've started exercising and eating better ... but I wish the weight would just disappear with the snap of my fingers (but who doesn't eh?).

Lately I've been feeling even more self-conscious about the extra weight ... maybe b/c it's been 3 months and I'm still carrying some extra baggage. This morning I tried on all my old jeans, and I could barely fit into one of them ... everything else won't even go over my hips! *sigh*

One thing to smile about is that I finally got a new hair cut that I like ... so that boosted my self-esteem up just a tad. Now if only i could lose some weight ...

A Family Day in Canmore

Last Saturday JC, Eli and I went for a drive out to Canmore. It was such a beautiful day - so we went out for a nice walk and found a cute place to hang-out and have coffee. We now have a new coffee hang-out in Canmore! We stayed there for a few hours ... just talking and hanging out. It was such a relaxing and fun day.

Eli was super good on the drive ... I think she liked the motion of the car. Hopefully, she'll enjoy it when we drive to BC in the summer.

Below is a picture of Eli in her tennis outfit ... she's so adorable.

Waiting for Daddy ...

Sometimes Eli and I will wait for JC to come home from work in the living room. While we're waiting we play, sing, and I snap pictures. This is why you'll see a lot of pictures of Eli with this blanket in the background ... it's during the time we're waiting for JC.

This is a picture of Eli last week ... I love how her hair is spiky and she's just smiling away. I'm so excited for my family and friends back home to meet her. My parents are going to be so surprised at how big she's gotten (meaning how heavy!) and how she's changed from the last time they saw her. Well, the next time they see her will be in Hawaii ... so I gotta find me a 2-piece bathing suit!

Through the Grace of God

It is through the Grace of God that I am blessed with my husband and daughter.

When I was younger, I prayed for my husband ... and God gave me more than what I prayed for ... He gave me JC

... a man who brought me closer to God

... a spiritual partner who prayed with and for me

... a person who believed in me

... a best friend who supported me

... and a husband who gave me Eliana Elise

I know my life is a gift from God and I give thanks everyday for His blessings. It is through God's Grace and His Everlasting Love that I am blessed.

Like Old Times ... Almost

On Friday, our close friends Angie and Wayne (who recently moved to Coquitlam) came to town for a quick visit. We all gathered at our place for some good 'ol eats and laughs. Although it was a short visit b/c Wayne had an exam the following day and they were was driving back to BC ... it was so much fun. I miss Wayne's sense of humor!! It was so cute, b/c JC cleaned up the basement "just in case" the guys had time to play some x-box. Unfortunately there wasn't time, but you can see the guys eyes light up at the thought of it. I miss those xbox and risk nights where the guys would play all night and the girls would lay in their pj's eating and talking all night.

Getting together on Friday felt like old times ... almost ... but of course we were not complete w/o the Malcolm's and Patterson's. The nice thing was that Wayne & Angie were stopping by Carlie and Sheldon's new digs in BC on their way home. So they got to visit together as well. Lucky them!!

Aww ... I miss our friends. But thank God for emails, telephone calls, blogs, and of course facebook ... and maybe God willingly another camping trip in the near future (but maybe when our babies are a bit older).

Chapters Family.

I think we are now one of those parents who spends a lot of their time at Chapters during the day (and night). It is one of my favourite pasttimes ... although I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can go for walks with Eli.

Below is a picture of Eli and I at Chapters in January.

Baby Eli

So just another quick post before I head off to bed. Right now Eli is sleeping in my arms ... I am wondering if she is going to sleep the whole night b/c she did not sleep well last night and had very few naps today. Well, we'll see I guess.

Eliana is growing so fast and amazes JC and I everyday. I can stare at her all day long (i don't - but it feels like i do!). Eli still looks like JC's clone ... although some people say she has my eyes and nose ... but I can't see it ... I can only see my husband :) But she does snore like me! Poor girl :)

Last night she giggled for the very first time!! I was so shocked that I didn't move at first ... and then I heard it again, and I had tears in my eyes. I wanted to run up and grab my camera so I could catch it on video - but I didn't want to move in case she giggled again. The funny thing though was that she giggled in her sleep!!! She had fallen asleep in JC's arms and all of a sudden she giggled (a few times) and had this adorable little smile.

Below is a picture JC took of Eli and myself (in the background). It's one of my favourite ones. She's so chunky and so adorable ...

Thank you God for blessing my life with my husband and daughter

Valentines Day.

Yes, I know Valentine's Day was last month, but I'm trying to catch up on my posts :) So anyways, my husband brought Eli and I to Banff and Lake Louise for our Valentines Day celebration.

We started our day off at Lake Louise ... went for a walk and then a light lunch at Fairmont Hotel. I remember the last winter we were at Lake Louise - Love and I walked across the lake ... well, this time we opted on not doing that ... maybe next year ;)

Here's a picture of Love and Eli in front of the frozen lake. How beautiful are the mountains?

After Lake Louise we went to Banff for another walk and then dinner at Saltlik. Oh yum! I think Saltlik is one of my favourite restaurants in Banff ... the one in Calgary is not as good.

It was a very sweet and thoughtful present my husband gave to Eli and I ... a day in Banff and Lake Louise for Valentines. A person cannot put a price on family time. It's too precious ... I am so blessed.

Moving Day

Last week we helped two of our close friends move their beautiful home into a UHaul for their BIG move to B.C. Yep, another couple have left Cow-Town for Beautiful British Columbia.

It was funny b/c the last time we helped one of our friends move, I was pregnant and I didn't even know it. So this time, we were joking around - making sure none of us were prego while lifting all the boxes :)

It was so strange (and so sad) to see another close couple move away ... our group is getting smaller and smaller.

Below is a picture of Eli's friend, Alissa. 3 of the babies (Eli, Alissa and Brandon) played upstairs with Sheldon's mom while we all helped move. (How cute is this photo?!)

I took this picture of Sheldon, Carlie and Alissa with all their belongings in the UHaul just before we left. It was so strange to see all their belongings in this UHaul and to see their house empty. I still remember when they first bought it ... and to see it empty was so sad for me. I guess it made their move more realistic.

Ah, and here's one of our last photo's together in a long time. We're missing Margaret and the kids, Brandon (he was sleeping) and of course the McGregor's (but they left for BC a few weeks ago). I'm hiding behind my husband b/c I'm wearing scrubs - much easier to move boxes in comfortable clothes :)
