a little homesick

last night i was feeling a little homesick

i called ninang luz to greet her on her birthday ... and after hearing ninong cesar and ninang luz's voices, i felt a little homesick for my family

... growing up ninong cesar, ninang luz, ninong loy and ninang lu were my second set of parents ... but now as an adult, they are not only my second set of parents, but some of my closest and dearest friends

i love calling home and hearing their voices ... or during Rodney's wedding, being able to spend a few precious hours with my family ...

this morning, i am feeling slightly better, i am still missing my family of course, but i thank God for blessing me the faron's and losanez' ...

God is so loving ...

Coffee vs Tea

I don't know what it is, but I'm addicted to coffee ... and tea. Almost every morning I like to have 1/2 a cup of coffee and then another 1/2 a cup during the day.

But then at school I found out if I bring my own coffee mug to the cafe I can get free hot water - so I started bringing in my green tea to school to drink during classes.

Now I have to always have one or the other throughout my day. Every so often I try to wean myself off of coffee and tea - so i try drinking hot water. Yes, just hot water. I find it quite relaxing for evening time, but not something in the morning.

So how do i like my coffee? Just black. Yes, I know - some people find that strange - I don't know why, but there it is ... just black.

As I sit here ... blogging at 7.16 a.m ... i am drinking ... yep you guessed it ... coffee ... black ... ahhh!

Now there is one way to start my day ... coffee ...

cell phones

here's my thought of the day ... yes i know have "one" a day ...

okay, what's the deal with cell phones? i find i am lost w/o it ... absolutely lost. at first it was more of emergency kind of thing ... you know, such as if my car broke down i could call for help ... but now it's a part of my life. it's quite scary i find.

but then again, i use it for work too and since i'm on call 24/hrs a day ... makes sense ... but still! i am in such a panic if i do not have my cell phone w/ me. the only time it is ever off is when i am in the hospital or dr's office ... any other time than that it's always on - either on a regular ring or a silent one. even when i'm in class it's one ... silent of course ... but my goodness.

i'm so lost w/o my cell phone. quite scary.

anyways, that's my thought of the day.

oh and as a second thought ... friendster is WAY to addicting ...

i am so blessed

every day i think about how blessed i am.

every day i thank God for my blessings ... first and foremost, i always thank God for his son Jesus, and secondly i always thank God for my husband.

every day is such a blessing, and i am so thankful for my Lord God for his love and guidance.

Our Weekend Get Away

Our weekend get away in Banff, Fairmount was so much fun. We spent our time walking around, eating buffets, swimming and soaking in the hot springs, listening to lounge music, watching movies ... oh and eating more buffets.

We were so excited to go b/c our last weekend trip to Banff was during our first year of "courtship". Wow, isn't it amazing at how fast time flies? Just a few more months and it will be our 2 year wedding anniversary ...

AAAAHHH !!!!! ADDICTED !!!!

... i haven't posted much on friendster in a long time, since i'm usually posting here .... but after reading mel's post ... i thought, 'oh well, why not check it out?' ... and then i got addicted ... i mean really addicted ... oh my lanta!!! ... i found people that i didn't even know were on friendster ... oh gosh. not another addiction to add to my list! yikes!

a sigh of relief

last week during my english class we had to write an in-class essay ... i was pretty nervous about it b/c according to my professor, this will determine whether or not we should be in this particular class ... boy was i nervous

so today we got our essays back ... and according to my mark, i should average a B in this class ... well, that is what my professor said ... no one received a mark that would suggest they receive an A ... so it causes me to wonder how hard she marks ...

anyways, i had a big sigh of relief after my english class today ... so one day down ... three more to go until my weekend get away with my husband ...

my week in review.

my oh my ... what a week.

i have this sneaky feeling that i am going to have a tough 2nd semester at school ... oh man, oh well ... guess that means i need to work harder ...

i have 5 classes again ... but this time i have english as one of my classes ... oh boy. this one is going to be a challenge ... i can already tell my teacher is going to be very difficult. i just want to lay my head down and cry. i was telling my husband ... this class is going to be one of my toughest classes ... but one i think, where i will learn the most from ... oh boy oh boy ... i think i need some divine intervention here.

my cold is a lot better ... i had to see the doctor to ask for a prescription b/c it wasn't getting any better ... i am always amazed at the power of medicine. although i have to admit, i am not a fan of it ... i am one of those people that do not take medicines unless it is absolutely necessary ... not b/c i am stubborn, but i like to try to see if my body will work it out on it's own ...

umnn ... what else happened this week?

oh i got an elliptical machine ... so no more excuses. i have to confess ... i have gained some weight since the holidays ... and i have been quite inspired to workout especially after watching "The Biggest Loser - the Family edition" ... i normally do not watch reality tv shows (well, except for apprentice and three wishes) ... but for some reason this particular episode caught my eye ... and after watching the big transformation ... i got my butt in gear. the following day, i went to superstore and stocked up on fruits & veggies ... went for a jog ... and on the weekend, got me an elliptical. so God willingly, i will shed some extra pounds ... now i'm not gutsy enough to do a before and after picture like on the show ... but maybe in a couple months, i'll just show you the "after" picture ;)

well, tomorrow starts a new week ... i am still a little nervous over my school, but i know with a lot of prayer and hard work, it will all work out. we also start up our prayer group again (we were taking a break during the holidays) - so i am really looking forward to that. and as a date weekend ... my husband and i will be going to banff for the a weekend getaway. woo-hoo!
