I think I caught my husbands' cold.
I've spent the first 1/2 morning in bed. I had to force myself to get up and try to clean up the house a bit.
Oh my, I'm not feeling well. I think I'll make some green tea ...

Being stranded at home = a lot of work accomplished!
Amazing. I got my first draft for work completed and emailed, i packed tons of boxes, finished the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and even cooked a second dish for dinner.
I'm shocked!
Actually, as I was cooking I was remembering how clean and organized my home was when I first moved here. Dinner was on the table by the time JC and the guys came home ... and the house was super clean. I was just getting into the swing of things with my work and I had not vehicle. 3 years later with more responsibilities w/ work and being in school ... my home is still clean (but mainly b/c of my husband) ... but I'm at times struggling to balance everything ... how do women who have families and work f/t do it?!? Oh my lanta, hats off to you ladies!
*sigh*
Well, break time is over ... got a few more empty boxes that I can fill.

(0) commentsI dropped our car off for it's regular service this morning. And now, I'm stranded at home ... alone. Now there's so much that I can do ... like finish up some work, pack more boxes, clean up the laundry, vacuum, clean the washrooms ... *sigh* ... now that I am listing all of this, I feel depressed.
Oh well, I guess I should get to work, eh?
OR ... i can just lie in bed and finish my book! *sigh* Goodness, there's too much work to do, and oh so little time. Guess I'll start cleaning in the kitchen area ... AFTER i have my breakfast ;)

Today was a busy day ... but a good one.
Here's the down-low on it ...
Meeting
Today we had our 2nd meeting for work, and finished the first draft of a 50+ page document we need to submit in a few weeks. Oh my lanta, it feels good to have that done! So now I all I need to do is to some revisions and touch-ups, and I should be okay to submit in about a week and a half! Woo-Hoo!!
2nd Meeting
After my work meeting, I had another "work" meeting. This one for my school. Oh my lanta, it was wonderful! The child I would be working with is so cute and wow, she comes from such a beautiful and loving family. I am so excited. Please pray for me, I have a meeting next week with another family - as I will be working with two families during the summer months. Oh this is so exciting! Although I'm so scared, it's such a wonderful opportunity.
Haircut
So, I've been trying to grow my hair for a little while now. I thought that since we're going back to Europe in a few weeks, I would just grow it out so I can tie my hair back and not have to worry about it. But the past few weeks - I've been so frustrated with my hair that today, I just decided to chop it all off.
I love my hairdresser - b/c I always go in w/ no plans ... I just plop myself down and say "Lindsay, please cut my hair - you know better than I - just cut it short" ... and I always love how she cuts my hair. It's always a different style when I go it ... this time it's layered super short in the back and layered in the front. Maybe, I'll post a picture ... "maybe".
Oh, and she's going on mat leave in the summer. Oh my lanta, what am I going to do? There's only two people I trust w/ my hair ... Ross (from B.C) and Lindsay (from here).
Chapters
Then, I went to Chapters and bought another book. You have no idea the joy it brings to me to be back to reading. I only read my textbooks during the semesters b/c I know if I read anything but my textbook, I'll never get any school work done. So after my school ended, I've been averaging buying a book a week. I know, it's awful, eh? I will definitely stop that soon & start borrowing from the library, but right now I'm reading books by Dave Pelzer.
I'll write more about him another time, but, if you have ever read his biography books "A Boy Named It", "A Lost Boy", and "A Man Named Dave" ... it will honestly change your life forever. It is about child abuse, the 3rd worst case of child abuse in San Fran in the 70's and how he triumphs over the abuse ... but oh my lanta. His books are heartbreaking, inspiring, and life changing all at once. I highly recommend it.
Work Out
I also got my butt on the elliptical again. *sigh* This is an on-going battle for me ... exercising. But, I gotta get in shape if I'm going to be in Europe in just a few weeks.
Anyways, that was my day in a nutshell. I'm going to hit the showers now, and then curl up and read my book. I am so excited!! It's nice to be off school for a little bit ... but I know in a few weeks I'll be back to writing papers and all that jazz.
Take care, and God bless.

Okay, so the title describes me a lot, eh? Well, let's just focus on one aspect, 'kay y'all?
I need to buy a new phone. My old phone will turn off when it wants to sleep and sometimes the "off" or "end" button doesn't work. *sigh* Well, what do you expect? It's 3 years old, and I got it for free with our family plan.
So, I'm looking into getting a phone that is like a palm pilot and email all built into one but without the price tag. I've been against buying a blackberry for sometime now ... but as I see the benefits for it, I'm also worried I'll be on it all the time. I'm already glued to my cell phone as it is ... however, I've been going to so many meetings and conferences the past few weeks that I'm really seeing the benefit of it. Also, I'm thinking of long term - b/c one day (God willingly), all the homes will be accessible via email so I can email when I'm on the road.
So any thoughts out there? Any good phones w/ a good price tag on it? Email me or send me a comment. I need help in this area (and yes, among other areas too!)

(0) commentsI am suppose to be working in the summer as part of my program. Oh my. I'm nervous. However, I find that whenever I am nervous about something, it means I should definitely do it.
Right now I am setting up my schedule and meeting with parents. Oh my lanta. I'm so scared. Will the child like me? Will the child and I get along? Will the parents like me? Will I be able to do a good job? Oh my lanta.
Please keep me in your prayers. I not only want to do a good job, but also, this portion of my school is worth 15 credits! So of course I want to get an A.
Oh and on a side note, I received all A's this semester! Ya-hoo!!!!

Boy oh boy ... it's been a busy few weeks. I'll try to summarize what's been a'happening w/ us ...
School
I am almost done my 2nd year - it feels amazing. I've been very blessed with the support of my husband, my in-laws, and my parents as I have been going to school. My husband helps me at home and with work when I am overwhelmed, my in-laws watch our guys when I have an early or late class, and my parents - my mom cooks up a storm when she is here so that I do not have to cook for weeks, where my dad repairs or builds things for our home and for work. Ah, I am so blessed. B/c of all the support I have had, I have been blessed with a scholarship from last year and Deans List in all my semesters.
Work
Well, work has been a blessing as well. B/c of my job, I am able to afford to go to school and Praise God that it can be flexible most of the time. I have found Jan - Apr is the busiest time of the year for me. Oh my, but thank you God for my husband b/c he helps me out so much.
Traveling
My husband and I will be marking our three year anniversary in Rome. We celebrated part of our honeymoon in Rome after our wedding ... we loved it so much that we thought we would go back, but for a longer time frame. I've been looking forward to going for months now ... I would really love a vacation.
Moving
Our renovations are almost complete! We were hoping to get in by Love's 30th birthday (Whoa, my husband is going to be 30 in a few days!) ... but don't think that will happen for another few weeks. A few things we did to our new home: ripped out the carpet everywhere, and installed hardwood, slate, and tiles ... took out the wallpaper and added new paint (light blue, dark blue, light green, red, and some neutrals), broke down the bar and installed laminate, broke down some shelves in the kitchen to open it up, tore down a sink and will replace with shelves ... umnn I think that's most of it. We still have much more to do, but that will come in time. We're really excited to move b/c its my husbands' dream home ... ah, I cannot wait!
Well that being all said, I gotta get back to my laundry and packing. Praying all is well for all of you out there ... May God bless you always.
P.S
Oliver, please keep updating your site with pictures of your babies!!! I check your site everyday to see pictures and to read your blog.
