[ Surrey: So When Did It All Begin? ]

A lot of people ask when JC and I first met ... well, it was when we were about 12 years old. I remember Mama Imelda (JC's mom) being so excited and saying, "you have to meet my son ... you have to meet my son JC". When I met JC, I remember he was playing with his video games in his room ... and he wouldn't even talk to me! Well, when I was 12, I developed a crush on JC ... I never told anyone before (maybe 2-3 of my girlfriends) ... and I had this crush until we started dating 2 years ago.

I remember every couple years, JC's family would pass by Surrey to visit ... and everytime I would get nervous at seeing JC again, and when I did, I would be so amazed at how he would get even more good looking each time!

One day, I was talking to JP and I still remember the feeling when JP said to me "JC LIKES YOU!" ...

I guess you can say the rest is "history" ... we started talking and then dating ... I wish I had been there to see the look on Ninong Mar and Ninang Mel's face when we called them to tell them we were dating ...

When I told Ninang Linda that JC and I were dating, she told me of a story that I had never known. She told me how our two Tatay's wanted us to date and that Tatay Max (JC's Tatay) would tease my Tatay Mangalindan about JC and I having children. Ninang Linda says that now their dream is complete ...

Well, that's the story on how I met my future husband ...

All in God's time ... and all through His blessings ...

[ Surrey: Not Even a Full Week! ]

It hasn't even been a full week since I left Calgary!! It feels like such a long time since I've seen JC ... gosh, long distance is so hard! But thank you God we have to do this for only a couple more weeks!

[ Surrey: Childhood Friends ]

When I look back at my life, I see how blessed I've been ... I remember the days we would play in Rodney and Randy's backyard ... the night Nicky "mooned" our neighbors (which was Randy and Rodney) ... meeting Anne-Marie the first time (now she's my matron of honor at my wedding) ... bike riding in Green Timbers with VJ and the gang ...

Where have the days gone? Some days, it seems like yesterday we were in Green Timbers ... other days, it seems like ages and ages ago ...

How I miss the carefree days of childhood ...

[ Surrey: Wedding Stories with my Sister-In-Law ]

The fun part about getting married a few months before your brother is that you get to share stories and stress moments with your soon to be sister-in-law. It's so much fun talking to Dar-yeen about our weddings ... it's one of the things that I cherish the most about the wedding planning. During our talks we trade stories about the dresses, programs, invitations and our stress moments ...

It's such a blessing that we get to share these cherished moments together ...

Wow! In just a few short months ... it won't be Darleen Bustos and Kim Mangalindan ... but "Mr. and Mrs. Randy Mangalindan" and "Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Yepes" ...

I can't wait!

[ Surrey: back home ]

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I've written here ... where do i start?

March 5th: my last day at Rogers ... the girls threw me a wonderful bridal shower/ going away party ... i can't believe all the work Faranak and Sandy did for me! I was so touched, and so overwhelmed ...

That weekend, Love and I attended the weekend marriage prep course at Rosemary Heights ... for all you couples that are planning on getting married in the church ... I totally recommend the weekend course versus the 7 week course ... it was so much fun (plus the food was amazing) ... but! be warned, make sure as a couple you have already spoken about your goals, beliefs, opinions etc in life as a couple and as individuals before going ... we heard stories of couples ending their engagement after attending the courses b/c of different goals, opinions, etc. Yikes!

Afterwards, I spend the past 2 weeks in Calgary ...

Love and I had a wonderful time ... it was a glimpse of what our life in Calgary could be like after the wedding. We did everyday stuff, cooked (yes, I cooked!), went out for coffee, movies, walked around the city ... every day stuff that we can't do together b/c we live far apart from one another ...

One of the many things we've learned about being apart, is to cherish every moment with each other, and to not take each other for granted.

It's only 5-6 weeks to the wedding ...

... and I can't wait to be Mrs. Jeremiah Yepes!

[ Surrey: Slowly Hitting Me ... ]

Only 4 more days till my last day ... today Sandy brought me out for lunch at Tropika in Richmond ... I think I ate too much (yes, as always) ... I can't wait to bring Love there for lunch ... I'm sure he'll like the Satay special.

It's slowly hitting me that I'm leaving not only work ... but soon Surrey ... I dropped off wedding invitations this evening ... and was able to spend a little time chit-chatting with my friends and I was even able to spend some time with Tim's mom and brother ... I remember when we were little, Alona and I would spend time in Tim's kitchen just talking with Tita ... gosh, where has the years gone?

This evening packed some bridal shower gifts and clothes in boxes to bring to Calgary next week ... I'm slowly emptying my room ... and slowly building my new home in Calgary with Love.

[ Surrey - My last week at Rogers ]

I can't believe this is my last week of work ... I'm going through the motions, but I don't think it's really hitting me yet. Last week I cleaned out my desk for Siva (my replacement), and I don't think I've ever seen it so clean! I just stood there looking at my desk thinking ... wow, I've spent years with this company and I can't believe I'm really going ... I felt so sad going home that day.

I've been so blessed to have made so many friends ... Eva, Faranak and Sandy all surprised me with wedding gifts on Saturday at Faranak's ... I was so surprised and so overwhelmed - I was speechless (Yes, amazing, i know!).

I'm so blessed to have had such a wonderful job and amazing friends ... well ... let's hope I don't cry on Friday during my going-away lunch ...
