One more sleep till the Palma's arrive!!!!
I have to admit, I have been feeling under the weather since Saturday ... and yesterday morning it came full force. So I spent the whole day in bed, drank lots of fluids, took tylenol day and night cold medicine throughout the day ... and basically rested the whole day. I haven't done that in ages, but i was determined to rest so I can kick my aches and pains as soon as possible.
And voila! I am much better!!! I still had a headache in the morning, but my body is no longer sore, my throat no longer scratchy, and no temperature! I am very blessed, b/c normally when i start to feel under the weather like this - it comes in full force the first day ... and I know my body needs to take a rest ... so usually if I rest that first day, load up on fluids and take the occasional medicine to help .... I am usually much better the following day ... so I think yesterday's day in bed really helped ... and now I am all better and ready for my next set of visitors to arrive!!

my parents, ninong loy, and ninang lu left early this morning for home.
i feel a little sad ... normally i cry a lot when my parents leave, but i think what's holding my tears in check is the fact that i get to see tyson in a few days. i am also looking forward to having some one-on-one time with anne-marie ... i feel like it's been ages since i had some alone time with her, so it's going to be so much fun.
i can't wait!!!
by the way, i am so fat! my ninang and mom cooked all my favourite dishes, and i am just a pig about it! plus we went out to eat quite a bit ... oh my lanta! and imagine, anne-marie is coming and i have a billion places to bring her, ron, and tyson too!!

I was teasing Ninang Lu that she only has a day and a half with Tyson when she gets back to Surrey ... and then he's mine for five days ... she didn't enjoy my joke all that much ;)

(0) commentsThe other day we were going to go for a walk and as Ninong Loy was coming down the stairs he slipped. Everyone goes into a panic and the first words out of my mom's mouth is "Isaiah!!"
We were laughing so much ... so now the joke is whenever we call for Ninong or Dad, we call them by the grandsons' names - Isaiah and Tyson.

My parents, Ninong Loy, and Ninang Lu are here for a week ... and my oh my are we having so much fun!
We've been going out to eat, hitting the malls, and spending so much quality time together. Last night the two mom's cooked up a storm ... where I ate like there was no tomorrow. Oh my lanta!
I am having all my favourite dishes cooked ... at first I was pretty shy and embarrased to ask Ninang if she can cook me a few dishes (as I miss them so much!) ... but I eventually got over that ;) Why should I be afraid? She's my second mom, so I asked ... and wow oh wow everything is so yummy ... I am so glad they don't leave until next week (we convinced them to stay an extra day so we can go to banff).
Everytime I go home I crave Ninang Lu and Ninang Luz's cooking ... so now that Ninang Lu is here ... oh my lanta I am taking full advantage ! How I love my Ninangs!!!

last night my husband brought me out on a date!
we went out for dinner at the verve ... and lo and behold ... we even dressed up! after dinner we went for a walk ... and felt like we were dating again ... but this time no airport scenes :)

It's that time of year again ... We Calgarian's LOVE Stampede week ...
I haven't gone to the Stampede just yet ... so these pictures are not mine, but courtesy of www.viewcalgary.com. JC and I are hoping to go later on this week ... but first, I gotta buy my pink cowgirl hat!!!

My Kuya and Darleen's 2 Year Anniversary is coming up soon ... here's a post I wrote after their wedding:
I have so much to write about the wedding - but i think it will need to come in patches as my computer is down and I'm borrowing kuya's laptop for the evening ... i'm so lost without my computer!!
It's amazing at how time flies ... first was our wedding, and then kuya's ... next thing we know my brother's baby will be here!
Kuya and Darleen's wedding was so beautiful and so emotional! Love and I joke around that I cried more at Kuya's wedding, then at our own wedding!
My two highlights of the ceremony were:
1) When Kuya was saying his vows - he got a little teary eyed ... it was so sweet b/c when kuya started to cry Allan and Erick were right there beside him ... it was such a touching moment ... i think that's when most of the people started crying in the church too!
2) When the priest pronounced "you may kiss the bride" ... Kuya and Darleen kissed ... and then Kuya leaned down and kissed Darleen's tummy (for those of you who don't know - Kuya and Darleen are having a baby this December) ... it was so sweet! Of course I bawled my eyes out when I saw that ...

A week and a half ago, I lost my keys to my truck.... got home with it, parked it in the garage, got into the house.... but somehow can't find where I put the keys. No worries! There's a spare! Went jogging today - nice, warm, sunny day... about 5.5km into the 6km route.... searched for the spare keys since I'm on the home stretch.... NOTHING! Dropped it somewhere back there... somewhere along the 5.5km of path....
So what'd I do? Walked back - yep... backtracked the whole freakin' path looking to my left (as you always jog on the right side - we're not in London). Neck started to ache... feet swelling... calves cramping... gettin' hungry & thirsty...
Nothing!
Kind of expected that actually...
Called my darling & told her what her Einstein husband did & asked for her to pick me up...
Then... I was thinking... "Crap!!! all my stuff's inside the truck!"
Luckily my window was open by 2 inches... so... when I got back to the truck, used a plank of wood & a rope to open the window... yeah... did it somehow... with my wife's encouragement of course.
Unlocked the door, transferred everything to the other car (I have both keys for that one)... & called AMA.
Thank you for AMA!
Towed the truck to the house for less than $10.00!!!
And... they offer a key service for losers like me (literally) that lose both sets of keys.... Gotta call the key service guys tomorrow...

My buddies just left.
And now i feel oh so sad.
Alona and Jay were here for a few days visiting ... and as always, we had a grand oh time together ... eating ... talking ... eating ... laughing ... and eating! I think I better get my butt back on the elliptical!
Janice was also here for a few hours passing through ... so I was able to spend some time with her ... which of course was a lot of fun!
But now my buddies have left and I feel oh so sad. As much as I love Calgary, I miss my friends ... it's always such a joy when they come for a visit.
After Alona and Jay left I sat in my dining room feeling oh so sad ... but then I remembered I have another "buddy" coming to visit me soon!!! Anne-Marie and family are coming in just a few weeks! So I got all excited ... went to Superstore to buy grocery so I can cook ahead of time and freeze so it will be easier when she is here.
And now I am not oh so sad ... well, sort of ... but I am very thankful for the time i had with my buddies.
By the way ... buddies ... if you are reading this ... GET A BLOG !!!! or at least FRIENDSTER!!!!
