This afternoon I watched the RCMP memorial service for the 4 young gentleman killed last week in Edmonton. I had such a hard time holding back my tears as I watched the service and listen to the family and friends pay tribute to these fallen hero's.
Reverend Don Schieman (father of Cst. Peter Christopher Schiemann) spoke about how it feels to lose a son, and how God felt when he sent his only son to die on the cross for us. Cst. Peter Christopher Schiemann said to his father a year ago "that if anything ever happened to me, I want people to hear about Jesus and hear about hope ..." with tears and his voice breaking Reverend Don Schieman said to his son that he'd carried out his wish this afternoon, adding they can hardly wait to see him in Heaven.
I pray for the family and friends of these four hero's who made a difference in not only their families lives, but to us fellow Canadian citizens.
